HELLO WORLD.... . .-.. .-.. --- / .-- --- .-. .-.. -..

What it handles

Letters & numbers

International Morse A–Z, case-insensitive, plus 0–9. Decoded text appears in uppercase.

Punctuation

Supports . , ? ! ' / ( ) : ; = + ". Unsupported characters are skipped with a count tip.

Listen to the rhythm

Play the dots and dashes you just got, at 5, 10 or 20 WPM. Stop any time. Ready to test yourself? Try practice by ear.

Limits worth knowing

Input is hard-capped at 500 Unicode code points — the field stops accepting more once you hit 500. For learning and puzzles—not emergency, radio, microphone or image decoding.

FAQ

Do I need spaces between dots and dashes?

When pasting Morse, put a space between letters and use / (or a new line) between words. Inside one letter, dots and dashes are written together (for example ... or Unicode ··· for S — middle dots and long dashes are accepted and normalized). A bare / between Morse letter groups is a word separator. The slash character itself is also supported punctuation; its own Morse token is -..-..

Why do I see a skip warning or a blank result?

Unsupported characters (like @) are skipped and counted. Illegal Morse fragments do not produce a fake decode — fix the dots and dashes, then try again.

Which punctuation is supported?

. , ? ! ' / ( ) : ; = + " — the same set as the full Morse code chart punctuation section. ASCII - is the Morse dash glyph only (not a translatable character); typing a hyphen in text mode is skipped. In Morse input, a bare / (or new line) separates words; decoding the Morse token -..-. is how you get a slash character.

What happens at 500 characters?

The input field is hard-capped at 500 Unicode code points (maxlength="500"). Once you hit 500, the field stops accepting more characters. There is no soft overflow path and no half-translated result beyond that limit.

What does WPM mean?

WPM means words per minute — how fast the rhythm plays. Higher numbers are faster. If the sound is hard to follow, start at 5 WPM.

Do I need a special keyboard?

No. Normal typing is enough. Nothing to install — no Morse keyboard, input method, or app.

How does AUTO-DETECT choose direction?

If the input is only Morse glyphs (. - and common Unicode lookalikes), spaces, and / or newlines, we decode to text. If it contains letters, digits, or supported punctuation, we encode to Morse. Input we cannot decide yields no fake result.

Do you save what I type?

No. Translation and playback run in your browser. We do not create an account or keep a history of your input.

Can I download an audio file?

No. Play is online-only in this page. There is no MP3 download.
